Interactive Storytelling

One of the interesting uses for Second Life as a medium is the opportunity for collaborative, improvisational storytelling, aka interactive storytelling. Note that text logfiles can't possibly capture the atmosphere or context, including people's appearances, their body language (focus of attention), the pace and tempo of the stories, and the jazz-like back-and-forth riffing which is done in realtime.

Nonetheless, I've included sample logfiles here. A better exercise for the reader would be to attend an interactive storytelling event in SecondLife. The quality of the event will be directly related to the quality of the organizer/host.

Discussions, Panels and Lectures

(ie: eLearning & distance education)

Virtual worlds can be used for eLearning or Distance Education. Some of the best use of virtual worlds lies in freeform roundtable discussions or panel discussions. I've provided some samples of these, hosted by William Withnail.

Professional and Business Writing

I've provided a sample business proposal in lieu of any recent academic writing.
